English Teacher
Due to school expansion and increasing cohort sizes we are currently looking to appoint a suitable candidate to the position of English teacher. This role is ideal if you are looking to take the next step in your professional career in a thriving educational environment. We welcome applicants of all levels of experience.
You will be suitably qualified with QTS in a relevant subject area as well as a degree at 2:1 or above. You will have experience of teaching English from KS3-5. You will also be emotionally intelligent, highly motivated and be willing to take measured risks to deliver an innovative, creative and engaging curriculum that develops students’ thinking skills, progress and aspirations.
This post is the ideal position for someone looking to gain experience for a future HOD role and would work closely with the Head of English to ensure the provision on offer is of the highest levels of quality and enjoyment. The English department is welcoming and supportive and will immediately provide both autonomy and support to anyone joining the team.
Our English department has achieved exceptional results over the last 6 years with over 85% achieving a grade 4 and above and 62% achieving grade 5 and above in summer 2023. These results demonstrated the exceptional work of a high performing department.

Personal Specification
Required:
A passion for exciting and engaging lessons that apply real world skills to creative projectsA working understanding of assessment and moderation of GCSE and A level English Literature and Language
A desire and determination to achieve outstanding results by working with all students to maximise their progress and attainment.
A commitment to our ethos as a recognised ‘’School of Character’’.
Willingness to work collaboratively with staff across our small trust.
A general keenness and enthusiasm for extracurricular activity and school visits/trips and enrichment activity.
Desirable:
A track record of success in teaching English at KS4 and 5.
Experience of moderating English coursework and exam papers at KS4 and 5. Exam board training and knowledge of a range of relevant qualifications.
