Teacher of Science

Full time: MPS/UPS

Start Date: September 2024

Closing Date: 31st May 2024

Required for Sept 2024, we are currently looking to recruit a Science teacher to join a highly successful department in delivering courses at KS3, 4 and 5 in single and combined sciences (GCSE/ A Level). The Science department is a well-established, highly effective and successful department that aims to instil students with a lifelong love of scientific process and learning. We teach science as a core subject throughout the school and offer combined and individual science pathways at KS4 and 5.

We welcome applications from science specialists that can demonstrate high levels of creativity and innovation. The ideal candidate will be emotionally intelligent, highly motivated and will be willing to take measured risks to deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum that develops high levels of scientific knowledge and application. We offer an additional pay award for staff that perform at an outstanding level as part of our appraisal review process.

Our students make excellent progress and are well behaved as recognised in our Ofsted reports, which also report that the school works at an outstanding level and regularly receive high praise and support from parents. We are proud to have a committed and stable staff team who are highly thought of by students and parents.

We make no excuses for having high expectations of our students, teachers and leaders and we are proud to have strong progression routes for middle and senior leaders; a supportive team of staff and a low staff turnover. We work closely with our teachers to ensure that unnecessary paperwork and admin are kept to a minimum and that a healthy and productive work life balance is maintained. We have an innovative programme of action based professional development opportunities that contributes to a 2 week October half term that has been very well received by our students, parents and staff.
